We hope to arrange the annual Easter Cape Clear row over the Easter Bank holiday weekend. 4th - 6th April (just to clarify.. rowing one of these days!).  As always, we will need to track the weather carefully and adjust plans accordingly. More details and info to be revealed closer to date, as we see how conditions are approaching the weekend.

Let us know here if interested in principle and we will get an idea of how many boats might travel.  We would hope as before to arrange a passage plan online chat probably within week of travel, to give those interested a bit of background and some idea for those who have not been before, what might be expected.

As those familiar with the trip, the departure from Baltimore needs to be close to HW Baltimore, to ride the tidal flow out to Cape, and visa versa.  Likely a 9am or 10am start depending on the day, with depart Cape for return either around 2pm or 3pm..  Perfect timing for day trip.

More update asap. 🙂 Oisin

For those not familiar with this trip, just to note the round trip is between 24-26k with a good break in middle of the trip.  The tides working with us will reduce the burden a bit, helping us out and back again, but bear in mind the typical row to the Mercy/ Blackrock Castle and back is around 6km!  Not to scare anyone off, but it is a fairly 'decent' row!

We currently have three boats full of interested rowers, and a few more maybe's TBC.

I hope to share a slide show online for anyone interested in learning a bit about the trip, or anyone thinking of joining, as well as anyone who might be interested in a little 'Coastal Passage planning' background.

Hoping weather conditions will be favourable for the weekend, and if the day looks like being a bit more challenging than we would like, there are plenty of protected/ less exposed routes around the closer islands, which we can consider as alternative to the full trip, on the day.
