Naomhóga Chorcaí Fun Regatta 2026
IT’S BACK!
What?
The Naomhóga Chorcaí Fun Currach Regatta.
Where?
Port of Cork Customs House grounds.
When?
April 12.
Time?
Registration opens at midday.
On the 12th of April, Naomhóga Chorcaí will again hold its very popular "Fun Regatta".
It promises to be another special day, with crews drawn from the hat, ensuring all participants have a fair chance of reaching the A and B finals.
All will be comprehensively explained on the day, but essentially: The very last race of the day will see the 2 top crews from each of our individual finals, racing for a beautiful perpetual trophy, crafted by our very own Jim Malone. Winners of the minor finals will receive lovely Naomhóga Chorcaí T-shirts.
Our friends from West Clare Currach Club are suppling us with four identical 3-hand West Clare working boats. The course will be short, as befitting a fun event, with each boat leaving from its own starting rope, proceeding downriver for 250 metres, to turn its own individual buoy, before racing back to the start/finish line.
All members are welcome to race and, indeed, we would encourage everyone to do so. It's a real opportunity to try another side of rowing, which is incredible fun.
Participants will also be travelling from Clare, Kerry and Down to race with us on the day.
So don't forget to put the 12th of April in your diary for this year's fun regatta. Registration opens at noon for an event, with the emphasis on craic, excitement and, most of all, creating memories.
