Subject to agreeing with Captain and Committee, a few of us hope to arrange another Cape Clear row attempt this year again! Easter is a little later this year Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th April. More info to follow. We would like again to arrange at least one pre-trip online session before, to help use the plans as a little training to help other organise trips and offshore adventures!
This year again we would hope to try to hook up with Islanders, and engage with the community on the trip. Easter is a big weekend for the islanders with many making the trip 'home' for this weekend, with lots going on out there!
Will keep all posted. Other rowers with experience interested in organising trips, particularly at sea are encouraged to engage an we will share all experience! We would hope to involve a friendly Ferry skipper and possibly Baltimore RNLI crew member to join the discussions online before trip for a broader view of issues involved in trips like these.
More to follow. Fingers crossed for favourable conditions this year!

Great Oisín, this is one of my favourite trips, looking forward to it already.
Interested Oisin, please.
Hi Susanne, Will start assembling list in next few weeks, and see how many we have. All so weather permitting, as usual but we have capacity with offers to tow 6 boats already so capacity should not be an issue.

We are hoping to organise an online (Zoom) evening session in next two weeks, to give a little background to trip plan and what is involved for anyone not familiar with this trip. The idea being to share not just the trip plan, but the basics of trip planning in coastal waters, charts/ tides and offshore trip planning. If free Colin, will join to chat a bit about safety issues, and maybe a guest or two with very significant experience of these waters joining us too. If weather allows the trip this year, we hope to engage with locals in a bit of Easter boating fun on the island .. all to be revealed! 😏
There will also be option for those not yet comfortable with an offshore row, to join us by ferry, or maybe take one way trip ( ferry one way / row other way) if a few are keen on this idea, or just joining us for a bit of Island experience by ferry! Bring family by ferry? 😋
We might start to finalise the list of people interested in joining us after that.
All welcome.
