There is a crack in the gunwhale of Fáinleog near the third thwart. It took a knock last Thursday and during an inspection afterwards the crack was noticed. However it would appear this crack is not recent and that the gunwhale has been held together by the superstructure around it. I think that it is usable for now but a second opinion is needed. At the very least extra care should be taken in handling the boat.
