Thanks to Miriam and Collette and their able servers for their outstanding culinary delights on Friday at the Idle.

Thanks very much to Frank, Ciara, Thomas, Maeve, Hammie, Laurence, Sinead, Mark, Emily and Gerry for all your help launching and recovering the boats yesterday...negotiating with drivers, sorting parking, and for your shouts of encouragement, ye were fab.

Thanks to Oisin, Jim, Jack and Colm for towing, and waiting patiently while we loaded and unloaded.

Thanks to Oisin, Donie aka Roge, Jack et al and all the painters for sorting the boats to make them O2C ready.

Thanks to Paul, Paul, Jim, Jim, Marie, Bill, Martha, Clare, Cathy, John, mammy at the start line, Stacey and everyone who I have failed to mention (mind a little tired today) but helped us get on the water and participate in the race.

Donna, Kate and Susanne.

Copy that!!

A massive thank you to each and everyone on and off the water. It was a fantastic day, made possible by the generous volunteers and the love of rowing by us all.

Well done, it was a challenging event and hugely enjoyable.

Thank You and Acknowledgement to Naomhóga Chorcaí

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Naomhóga Chorcaí for nurturing and encouraging what has become a new and powerful passion for rowing in my life. Being a member for just six months, the experience of learning, training, and rowing has supported me no end — physically, mentally, and emotionally. It has brought joy, strength, and connection at a time I didn't even know I needed it.

From the very beginning, I felt genuinely welcomed. Members of the club saw my potential before I ever could – and that belief, along with the camaraderie and encouragement I’ve received, has meant the world to me.

Taking part in my first Ocean to City yesterday with a wonderful crew was an unforgettable moment — a real milestone on this new journey. I’m also incredibly proud and grateful that our team captain, Jimmy, along with his three novices, was awarded the Cian Ó Shea Trophy. Thank you, NC, for this great honour. We will care for it with deep pride.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir – for the welcome, the wisdom, and the water
