Boat Loading for O2C this evening @ 18.30

Good afternoon, no decision has yet been made regarding the course for Saturdays race given the uncertainty of the forecast with a decision deferred to tomorrow Friday 29th. To be ready for all eventualities we are loading the two boats at SBC this evening at 18.30 and we need people to assist.

Tomorrow we will also need people available to unload wherever that unloading may take place. Assuming many will have work commitments that will rule them out helping during the day if anyone has general availability tomorrow they might let me know in the hope we may have sufficient resources to do some unloading during the day.

Loading trailers for O2C 2026

I'm sure we are all keenly following the various forecasts for Saturday from your favourite weather apps and Met Eireann. Fingers crossed that the full course can go ahead. I'll post on this thread when I have any further info. Once we know this I'll use this thread to coordinate a few of us for loading boats on the trailer and unloading in Crosshaven (fingers crossed)

Ag Sluaisteáil are planning a relaxed Ocean to City training row tomorrow morning, meeting at 10:30am. Probably to Crosshaven to check out the start line and first part of race and maybe stop for coffee. Any other crews not already enjoying Roaring Water Bay and the pilot race welcome. Our crew is planning a long row on Thursday afternoon. To Passage and back, weather permitting. LW is 4:08 pm so meeting at the club at 2 pm. It would be nice to have company, other crews welcome. Cathy

O2C training row Sunday 17th May

Proposed training row Sunday 17/05 SBC - Passage return. This is instead of the suggested relay to PP and avoids the issue of returning cars from PP to SBC.

Meet at SBC at 10.00am for onwater departure 10.45am. Row to pontoon at Passage, break for 20/30 mins and return to SBC.

Priority will be given to O2C participants. There are a number ofboats at SBC out of action for various reasons. If numbers allow, non O2C participants will be accommodated.

Please sign up here, 02C captains please confirm how many of your crew are available.

This will be the last centrally organised long row before the race.

Ocean to City training row tomorrow Sunday 10/5 9am

There is interest in a training row tomorrow morning at 9am. The Blackrock regatta has been cancelled.

The forecast is a little windier than today’s row but if we go upstream we should get some mileage in. Wind N to NE, force 4 gusting 6. HW 1214 3.5m.

Crew John, Mick, Maura, Cathy will be there. Any others please indicate here, whatsapp or turn up in the morning.

Our Ocean to City crew (Mick, John, Maura, Cathy) is planning a row tomorrow from Shandon. Anyone else interested ? We are free to start from 5pm, happy to go later if it suits others better. Cathy

O2C training row Monday 4th May

Next proposed O2C training row is on Monday 04/05/2026, from PP to Lough Mahon and back to PP. Meet at PP 13.00 for onwater departure 13.45.

Depending on the level of interest , given it is the Bank Holday weekend we may need to bring boats from SBC again.

Please indicate here if your crew or part of your crew intends participating before 17.00 Thursday 30/04 so we can gauge numbers.

Priority will be given to O2C crews with non participating members welcome to come along if there is a seat available.

LW Cobh is at 14.07 with current forecast for light winds but possibly damp

O2C training row from Paddy’s Point on Sunday 26th April. Meeting 9.00 am for on water departure 9.30am. Subject to weather with current forecast good.

Proposed course PP – Roches Point – Spit Bank – white Point- PP.

LW Cobh 8.43am 1.14m

Depending on numbers we will look at loading and towing boats from SBC on Saturday if required. Seats will still be limited and priority will be given to O2C participants.

Can 02C captains register interest here and confirm how many of your crew are available so we can decide if we need to bring boats from SBC and facilitate other club members if possible.
